Made it official when we were about to leave college. Having only met a few months earlier and talking while Brett was studying abroad in Germany, we were excited to finally label it.

Brett started working in Metro Detroit and we explored the area together. One of our favorites was horseback riding at Maybury State Park.

Courtney's maid of honor had a litter of German Shephard's and we were blessed with Sadie. She has become our life companion and the reason we pay for extended photo storage.

Courtney was raised as a big camper and she converted Brett into one quickly. We started with a hand me down tent from her parents and packed into a Ford Focus. One of our favorite spots was Tahquamenon State Park as we went a few years in a row.

After a long grueling search, we found the perfect place for us in Southfield, Michigan. We love being close to downtown Detroit yet still have "small town" experiences in Farmington and Plymouth. Sadie is a big fan of the constant deer we have, too.

We were lucky enough to purchase a popup camper to streamline our trips. It also allowed us to camp into the fall. Oscoda was Brett's childhood vacation, and we are continuing it every year. We are always talking about our next trip, wherever it may be.

One of our favorite past times is spontaneously going to Red Wings games. Courtney is always watching the ticket prices and its not uncommon for us to buy them a few hours before puck drop.

When Michigan Central Station was reopening to the the public was the perfect time to propose. Courtney knew as soon as Brett talked about going dress shopping and getting her nails done - but he tried to keep it a surprise.
